IF you can create a slogan/name that promises the client/subscriber a specific benefit or positive experience like "Survive and Thrive," you should use it... "Gradually, Then Suddenly" is more of a tease and is definitely not as strong... You are providing good guidance and insights for your subscribers, John. Promote it.

I agree with just about everyone else that your name alone is good. It certainly is for any one who already knows your substack and POV. I assume your question is regarding those who don’t, right? What would entice them to open an email from you? Although I agree with the refrain ‘if not broken don’t fix it’, if you’re wondering how many potential fans you might be missing, how about “John Rubino’s Survive and Thrive”? It sounds positive and could capture the attention of many different interests. It’s similar to “Doug Casey’s International Man” and that seems to work.
I don’t subscribe but I just like yours as it is. At my office it’s easy for me to remember a Group mail address if it’s ‘ jack’s team’ as opposed to the long winded corporate name of his team
I only open a few of the emails I get per day. I usually open yours. The senders name only shows about the first 2 words. So it should be John Rubino's XXXXXX XXXX if you really want to change it.

We are in the gradually phase. When the suddenly phase occurs you would be faced with changing the name again.
