Read it last weekend. It's supposed to have a part 2, which hasn't appeared yet.

I appreciate Dugins takes especially on the Ukraine conflict and he sure is a sharp intellect.

This peace appears too simple in structure and the sketched room of opportunities.

Although he mostly applies complicated language this lacks in-depth research....to my perception.

Observing all the often weird developments of the last decade. Gender-BS, DEI, "Renewable" Energy*, open borders, utterly stupid destruction of energy systems and much more one might have thought the "Elites" all drank Cool-Aid.

The reverse that's underway, look at the EU and her mad Commission Head von der Leyen, is so huge and so abrupt that this very much looks like a Plan- B that's now enrolled bc the victory of Trump was too big to ignore it.

And so the BS of the recent past gets reversed.

*Every six grader should have learned that energy only can be transformed.

Rubino does say the author, Alexander Dugin, seems to miss Russia, in the understatement of the year. Google this guy... he is known as "Putin's philosopher". This dude is far-right with ties to neo-nazis... so yeah, consider the source before buying into the story he's telling. John Rubino seems to have fallen all the way down the rabbit hole. Everybody... always consider the source and the agenda they have.

The reason for the inequality and economic insecurity is not because of progressivism or liberalism... it's because of neoliberalism (very different from liberalism) starting with the Carter and Reagan administrations, crony capitalism, and a government so corrupted by money that it no longer serves the people. That's not to say that everything Dugin says is incorrect... I do agree that change is coming in the US. The New Gilded Age is on full display, the oligarchy is out in the open, and inequality is at record levels. But Trump won't change it, he'll make it worse... the system as we've known it since ~1980 is about to collapse. I believe the people will be reclaiming the government and it will work for us once again, as The Constitution intended.

A very interesting article.

Basically, Dugin is claiming that the “deep state” is actually backing Trump, so I suppose we’re to presume that his Administration will actually forward the old, original unipolar, globalist agenda after all.

He writes, “thus the deep state recognized the reality of the crisis of globalism and the need to abandon old methods of promoting it.” And, “For this reason, the deep state allowed Trump to be re-elected and even supported the formation of a radical group of ideological Trumpists.”

A few thoughts: One, that the deep state seems to Dugin to be axiomatic, so the only way to explain a Trump re-election is the deep state allowed it.

Two, that’s very convenient as an explanation but also foreboding if true. My guess is that most people believe Trump’s re-election was in spite of the deep state’s efforts to avoid it, which is largely why there is so much excitement. It reminds me of the public’s change in attitude after General George Washington achieved several seemingly impossible victories against the British, simply surviving being one of them. (As it turned out, Washington’s vision (that there is a greater level of human physical experience) prevailed, so maybe Trump’s “golden age” will too. )

In Dugin’s opinion, allowing Trump to win “… marks the beginning of a new chapter in the history of American hegemony: a deep rethinking of its strategy, ideology, presentation, and structure.” It’s also possible, however, that the only rethinking is how to use the Trump administration (instead of Biden’s) to further its cause, possibly by undermining it by creating chaos, hoping to cause capitulation among the populace. If successful, power would probably be returned to the Democrat party and all that implies. We shall see.

The apparent conflicts or fissures within the Trump administration is very interesting. It will be interesting to see how so much support for Israel can be defended as putting America first. There being a Jewish lobby, and being so powerful, complicates the analysis. “Anti-semitism” may become a new lightening rod, and it will be unclear who might be behind it.

It’s also interesting that Dugin thinks Trump’s election marks the end of the Four Turning “crisis” period. I like what Trump advocates, but I’m not so confident that the stats quo is over, or at least without a fight that could include a lot of collateral damage. Trump’s administration may be a disaster, if not the cause of it at least amidst it, so the next Presidency may be the one that has to pick up the pieces in the “High” period - not Trump’s. We shall see.

Enjoy the read

I put a slightly different perspective into this. That the deep state did everything possible to avoid Trump is no contradiction to the possibility that they now enroll their Plan-B and for now cooperate with him.

The bullet points of this time were written (foretold of) nearly 2000 years ago. Very few have read. Fewer have read from untainted versions. Even fewer having read from the best version have done so with understanding and stuck with it enough to teach others and get them past the all the vivid drama / metaphor learning curve. Most listen to some religion head blowing hot air then passing a plate, selling a book(s) . . Any wonder why people are confused and turned off - turned away?! Do THE Scriptures prescribe a particular religion as we know them? NO! All are created by human kind. There is one, if you care to call it a religion, by THE Creator and it's only for this short human age.

What is that?

The great problem with the entire world is that so many in it seem to think they can see the entire world and in their imaginary all-encompassing wisdom, they tend to express themselves using vast abstractions suitable to the vastness of their vast intellects. Just in this one article, we find dozens of terms (see below), all of which, if you asked 100 people to define them would yield 100 definitions for each term. And all of those definitions would require a paragraph or more and no doubt include even more vast abstractions. This is BS of the highest order. It is pure wind saying nothing intelligible about the reality of the world.

But the problems of the world can be simply summarized without vast abstractions as follows: In every country, a small gang of parasites called government lives by means of an extortion racket called taxation, a counterfeiting racket called monetary policy, slavery called conscription, monopoly schemes called Intellectual Property Law and licensing, and a brain-washing scheme called public education. Because of the internet and other modern communications, populations are now being exposed to the truth of all these parasitic gangs and are, for the first time in history, beginning to question the legitimacy and demand an end to the predations of government while casting aside the superstitious morality of faith in and obedience to authority preached by religion.

Meanwhile back at the ranch:

How much did Ross Ulbricht pay Trump for his pardon?

Donald Trump announced on Tuesday that he has pardoned Ross Ulbricht, the founder of Silk Road, an underground website for selling illegal drugs and other contraband goods like hacking equipment and stolen passports.

Conviction and sentence[edit]

On February 4, 2015, Ulbricht was convicted on all counts after a jury trial that had taken place in January 2015.[45] On May 29, 2015, he was sentenced to double life imprisonment plus 40 years, without the possibility of parole. Ulbricht was also ordered to pay about $183 million in restitution, based on the total sales of illegal drugs and counterfeit IDs through Silk Road.

Good luck folks, life is nothing but a witch hunt I guess.

Expand full comment

I don't think he paid anything. Ross created an economic agora unpoliced by government and using crypto currency and it was the most threatening, free-market invention the Five Eyes had ever seen and they threw a talented young man in prison for lifetimes to make the Example of all Examples out of him, lest anyone get any ideas about alternative markets or alternative currencies.

If you disagree, okay, I understand it may seem sketchy from the get-go, but do you think gun manufacturers should be criminally responsible for crimes committed using guns? Guns are, one could argue, practically designed to be used in violence and crime, right? (Just as much as Ross's website was.)

I think the appropriate commutation of his sentence is due to the tireless efforts of his mother, crypto enthusiasts, the Libertarian party and of course Trump.

Expand full comment

I am going to assume that you agree that Ulbricht did indeed traffic in illegal drugs, passports and hacking equipment.

Your argument appears to be that because other activities detrimental to society (gun sales) go unpunished, Ulbricht should not be punished.

Sorry, can't get there. Expand your logic and there would be no rule of law.

Bottom line: the world (including the US) is in for a very tough 4 years.

My take: Before Trump's term ends, the national debt will double and the 10 year will be at 20%. Trump will be remembered as the guy who took us into the actionable phase of the 4th turning.

Expand full comment

No, quite the opposite. I do not agree. The prosecution never argued that he personally distributed drugs, hacked anything, delivered false IDs, or laundered money. These things only occurred on his website. By the way, the same currently occurs on Amazon but simply through hidden code / signals / messages. It even appears child sex trafficking may be occurring via Amazon. But sure, this is the ONE BAD GUY who we must make an absurdist / farcical example of.

Well, here is what he was convicted of, but I think you already know this. So see ya!

I'm aware, but the government never argued that he distributed narcotics, they argued that Silk Road users did and held him accountable. Same with money laundering, selling hacking software, or selling fake IDs -- they never said he did it. They said users of Silk Road did it. https://freeross.org/the-charges/

Do you know why the US government did a plea deal with Michael Milken? It was because he had money. That meant that not only did he have a right to a fair trial, he had the means to get one. OJ got a fair trial as well. Milken pled to 6 counts of securities fraud and received 10 years.

Ross was sitting on a fortune and they still managed to nail his ass to the floor. Your arguments don't pass the smell test.

Incidentally, Trump also pardoned Milken in 2020, long after he had done his time. It just meant that he could get right back into the securities game.

Why does Trump do it? It is the only time he can feel like an emperor in the current US system.

It's getting dark, too dark to see.

I feel I'm knocking on heaven's door.

Thanks for coming!

PS-I agree with you that Ross didn't pay Trump a cent for the pardon. What better way to lock someone up in your pocket than to offer a full pardon when you are in for 90 years. Ross is a building block in Trump's administration, perhaps a keystone piece.

I have no way to verify if it's true, but I've read the author is an advisor to Putin. As someone who was terrified of nuclear war in October and November I find this analysis a relief. The US has given up -- for now at least -- on the global Pax Americana (i.e. the form of globalism Americans were marketed) and other countries can see it. Globalism is dead. Let peace and commerce flourish.
