Precious metals explorers — or “lottery ticket stocks” as I’ve been referring to them, are, as the name implies, hit-or-miss propositions. Most fail, but hopefully, the ones that succeed more than offset those losses.
That, alas, hasn’t been the case with the lottery ticket stocks in the precious metals section of our Portfolio. Yesterday’s bad news from one of the (previously) most promising explorers was a signal that it’s time to cull the lottery tickets that aren’t working out.
I’ll list them here with brief explanations, and in a later post will replace them with some explorers that are doing much better. Here goes:
