Gold miners like to analyze drill results by taking grade (the amount of gold per ton of rock discovered in a given stretch of drill core) and multiplying it by the length (aka width or interval) of the find. The result is expressed in gram meters, and 100 (as in 10 grams/ton over 10 meters) is generally seen as a good reading.
