Gold is a great store of value .

For me , I have a large position in Coca Cola . It is in the DRIP program so I am the “ owner of record “ at the transfer agent. I have a few gold and silver coins and some 1800’s silver coins and foolishly have a few thousand dollars cash hidden . Also money in Wells Fargo getting Bupkiss . This amounts to about 15% . The rest is in individual stocks held long in a cash only account at Morgan Stanley .

I was a broker at MS in December 2008 . Few people understand just how close we got .

What would you do ? If MS folded like Lehman , what would a client do ?

“ Ray , transfer my stocks to Schwab “

Really ? And how do you suggest I do that in receivership?

We have some FDIC type “ insurance “ on stocks…400K ? How does that work exactly ?

The client can write a check on his money market fund but will it clear a frozen account .

If you owned a MS “ product “ what do you own really ?

Yes KO is on your computer screen but if you call Coca Cola or the transfer agent they don’t know you ..They know MS .

Of course it won’t happen but in December 2008 no one was really sure.

Oh btw …we are more leveraged and entangled today than 2008:.

That’s why John’s newsletter is important .

John, gold is quite widely used in both microchips and in electronic circuitry. In fact there is a company going public on NYSE in the very near future to extract precious metals from electronic waste. https://invest.equifund.com/offering/modernmining/details Take a look.
